After some extensive research comparing bikes ranging from the same price I ended up deciding to get me Nomad 2X. First thing out the box I assembled it with ease by myself and took it for a ride. And oh boy that ride was smooth I tested it on rocky and pave roads. I've never ridden a e-bike before so the feeling when riding one for the first time is incredibly mind blowing. I know I made the right choice when picking the Nomad. The only downside on my opinion is when biking throughout a rough road the bolts from headlight of the e-bike keep getting loose no matter how tight I screwed them so make sure to bring the Allen key adequate for the headlight so when riding at night on a rocky rough road to tight the bolt whenever it keeps getting lose. Also bring along the Allen key to adjust the handlebars since it also got slightly loose when riding it. Ive ridding 90 miles so far.

I watched dozens of reviews on many brands before purchasing the Nomad 2X. I have had it for roughly a month and am super happy with my choice. This bike is simply all around outstanding. I do wish the find me feature was built into the app so it would work with android.

Decided that at 64, it was time to see what all the ebike fuss was all about. I don't get to ride as often as I like, and I'm not as strong as I once was.
I currently have three analog bikes: a 700C roadie, a 29er FS, and a 27.5 Fattie. Been riding fatties in the Last Frontier since the late 90's. The Nomad X (I believe that's the actual name, as there's no '2' anywhere on it) checked all the boxes for the kind of riding I do: city paths and backcountry XC in the wilds of Alaska. Notice the bear spray on the top tube? Works on moose, too.
Came very well packaged and undamaged, and that’s after having to put it on a boat in Tacoma to get it to Anchorage. The setup was straightforward, and the video is a good watch for getting familiar with what needs to be done. I disagree with when the caliper should go on. Wheel first, then caliper. So much simpler and you're not whacking the rotor on the pads trying to get it into place.
The M4 bolt for the headlight was missing, but that's a common part I have lying around. Take the time to bed the pads, which really improves braking. Since I found the braking underwhelming, I opted to install a 203mm rotor on the R to match the front. Need a P43 adapter for the caliper. Made a very dramatic difference in braking and is a relatively inexpensive upgrade. Highly recommend.
I disliked the thickness and width of the stock grips, so I opted for some Ergons that I have on my other bikes. Moved the controls about an inch closer, too. Since I…

Yes! Nomad 2X meets IPX6 waterproof standards, so you'll be able to ride confidently even in heavy rain and clean it using a pressure washer. All Velotric Ebikes are built to this standard.
Yes. The default is Class 2 (throttle enabled, 20MPH max speed):
- Class 1: Disables throttle.
- Class 3: Disables throttle, increases top speed to 28MPH.

You can switch modes via the Velotric app, or when the bike is stationary. Take a look at the display to verify which mode you're in. Then, long-press the M Button, and you'll see the mode switch. It's that easy!
Torque sensors are better for variable-speed riding or rugged terrain, meaning riding will feel more intuitive (as the power output is more efficient and immediate). Cadence sensors feel more relaxed and are ideal for long, consistent rides, such as city roads. Explore each to find what fits your riding style best.
