Answers to most common questions about warranty
What warranty comes with my bike?
- Every Velotric ebike comes with a 2-year limited warranty at no extra cost.
- Register free within 60 days and you automatically get the coverage upgrade (the Extended Year): electrical parts and battery covered through Year 3, and the frame through Year 10.
How do I get the coverage upgrade?
Free way: register your bike within 60 days of purchase — Register my warranty — it takes about 2 minutes and costs nothing. You'll need your frame number, model, purchase date, proof of purchase and email address.
Past 60 days?
- Option 1 — Purchase directly. Buy the Plan online for USD 199.
- Option 2 — Through an Authorized Velotric Dealer. Complete a qualifying maintenance service at an Authorized Velotric Dealer during the same window (Day 61–180), and the Plan can be activated based on the service record. The dealer offers the Plan under its own sales arrangement with you, and any price for the Plan is set by the dealer (see Section 3.3). Either your dealer or you can submit the service record at the Velotric dealer service form. Once the record is reviewed and approved, your Plan is activated and you receive a confirmation by email (review typically takes up to 2 business days).
A qualifying maintenance service means a routine maintenance visit (not a repair-only visit). Service items are at the dealer's professional discretion and may include brake inspection & adjustment, drivetrain inspection & lubrication, torque check of critical fasteners, tire & wheel inspection, battery health check, and firmware check & update. Eligibility follows the same model list as Section 2.2.
What's covered, and for how long?
| Covered | 2-year limited warranty | After the Coverage Upgrade |
|---|---|---|
| Frame | 5 years | 10 years |
| Rigid fork (T1, T1 ST, T1 ST Plus, Breeze, Tempo) | 5 years | 5 years |
| Battery (included with bike) | 2 years | 3 years or 400 charging cycles, whichever comes first |
| Electrical (motor, controller, display, charger, sensors, lights) | 2 years | 3 years |
| Other Essential Components (Mechanical Parts) | 1 year | 1 year |
| Accessories | 1 year | 1 year |
All periods run from your original purchase date. One exception: a battery you buy separately counts as an accessory — it's covered for 1 year from its own purchase date and doesn't get the extended year.
What isn't covered?
Normal wear parts (brake pads, tires, tubes, chain, cables, bearings), cosmetic damage, accidents or misuse, incorrect assembly or maintenance, unauthorized modifications or repairs, water and charging misuse, and commercial or rental use. If a wear part has a manufacturing defect found within 30 days of delivery, it is replaced once.
Why can't my bike get upgraded?
1. Model eligibility. The extra year applies to these models: Nomad 2 · Nomad 2X · Breeze 1 · Fold 1 Plus · Triker · Discover 3 · Discover M · Tempo · Summit 2 · GoMad.
2. You're past the window. Three deadlines decide this:
| Your situation | Deadline | How to get the Coverage Upgrade |
|---|---|---|
| New purchase | Registration is free within 60 days of purchase; the paid window runs to day 180. Past day 180, it closes | Register free, or purchase the Protection Plan — directly online ($199) or through an Authorized Velotric Dealer |
| Purchased in 2025 | December 31, 2026 | Purchase the Protection Plan — directly online ($199) or through an Authorized Velotric Dealer |
| Purchased in 2026 and not registered | December 31, 2026 | Complete your free registration |
Not sure which one applies? Please check your eligibility here.
Does the warranty clock restart when I register, upgrade or transfer?
No. Coverage always runs from your original purchase date. Registration, the coverage upgrade and a transfer never restart or extend it.
Example: Register in July, activate the coverage upgrade in August, transfer in October — in every case the clock still points to the purchase date June 1, 2026, and battery and electrical coverage still ends June 1, 2029.
Can I transfer the warranty if I transfer my bike?
The base 2-year limited warranty stays with the original purchaser. If your coverage includes the Extended Year, you may transfer the remaining coverage once, at no charge, within one (1) year of the change of ownership — just provide verifiable proof of ownership and the frame number. The transfer covers all remaining coverage, including the frame.
How do I file a claim, and where do I get my bike repaired?
It depends on where you bought your bike. Bought online? Contact our support team at help@velotricbike.com or +1 888-559-3099. Bought at a dealer? Go to your Authorized Velotric Dealer first — we have 1,600+ authorized dealers nationwide, so there's one near you — and they can help you file the claim and service your bike in store. If anything doesn't go smoothly at the dealer, you can always come back to us directly.
What do I lose if I don't register?
Nothing. Your 2-year limited warranty comes with your bike, with or without registration — a dated receipt is all you need. Registration only adds the optional extended coverage.

1.6 Claims Process
Determination
VELOTRIC WILL NOT REPLACE ANY COVERED COMPONENT UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY WITHOUT FIRST SEEING PHOTOS OR VIDEO OF THE DAMAGED COVERED COMPONENT.
In order to exercise your right to receive a replacement for a Covered Component under this Limited Warranty, you must:
- Contact us through the channel that matches how you bought your ebike: if you purchased online, contact the Velotric Customer Service team via help@velotricbike.com or +1 888-559-3099; if you purchased from an Authorized Velotric Dealer, contact that dealer first — they will help you file the claim and arrange any in-store service. If your issue is not resolved smoothly through the dealer, you can always come back to Velotric Customer Service directly. In either case, we will initially work with you on the problem to identify potential simple fixes.
- If the customer service team determines that a Covered Component must be replaced, they will provide you with a set of instructions for returning the defective Covered Component and receiving the replacement.
- After you receive the replacement Covered Component, the customer service team will also assist in determining how to replace or install the new Covered Component into your ebike.
- You will be responsible for shipping costs associated with returning a Covered Component, unless Velotric agrees in writing to pay for such shipping costs. Replacement Covered Components under this Limited Warranty will be shipped to the registered address of the current warranty holder.
- Our warranty for replacement bikes, accessories, and spare parts is tied to the original order's purchase date and does not reset upon receiving the replacement. For instance, if an accessory is replaced, its warranty remains effective only until the end date of the original order's warranty period.

Free One-Year Extension (Year-3 Coverage)
2.1 What It Is
Every Velotric Ebike purchased through velotricbike.com or an Authorized Velotric Dealer includes the 2-Year Limited Warranty in Part 1 at no additional cost. If you complete the free registration described below within the stated window, your coverage is automatically extended by one (1) additional year (the "Extended Year"). No payment, and no separate offer or acceptance, is required — the extension takes effect automatically once your registration is completed.
Registration is simply one way to confirm your purchase date: a dated proof of purchase is always an acceptable alternative.
The Extended Year follows the same region and channel rules as Part 1: it is available only for Ebikes purchased and delivered in the United States through velotricbike.com or an Authorized Velotric Dealer. Bikes bought from unauthorized sellers, resellers, marketplaces or through cross-border purchases are not eligible.

- The Velotric registration page: Register my warranty;
- The Velotric app; or
- With the assistance of an Authorized Velotric Dealer at the time of purchase.
You will need your frame number, model, purchase date, proof of purchase, and email address. Registration takes about two minutes, and your Extended Year activates automatically upon approval.
Transition exception: bikes purchased in 2026 that have not yet been registered may complete free registration until December 31, 2026 (see Section 2.5).
2.4 Extended Year Benefits
If you activate the Free One-Year Extension, your coverage grows as follows. All other terms of the 2-Year Limited Warranty — exclusions, limitations, the claims process, and the fourteen (14)-day shipping-damage notice period — remain exactly the same.
| Category | Standard coverage | The Extended Year adds |
|---|---|---|
| Electrical Parts | 2 years | +1 year — covered through Year 3 from the original purchase date |
| Battery (included with bike) | 2 years | +1 year — covered through Year 3 or 400 total charging cycles, whichever comes first |
| Frame (structure) | 5 years | +5 years — covered through Year 10 from the original purchase date (frame only) |
| Rigid fork | 5 years | No change |
| Other Essential Components (Mechanical Parts) | 1 year | No change |
| Accessories | 1 year | No change |
| Transferability | Not transferable | + one-time transfer right (see below) |
One-time transfer.
- If your coverage includes the Extended Year, you may transfer the remaining coverage once, at no charge, to a subsequent owner.
- The transfer must be requested within one (1) year of the change of ownership, with verifiable proof of ownership and the bicycle serial number.
- A transfer never restarts or extends any coverage period.
- The transfer covers all remaining coverage, including frame (structure) coverage.
No clock reset.
- All coverage periods run from the original purchase date.
- The Extended Year and any replacement parts never restart or extend the warranty clock.
2.5 Effective Date & Transition
Effective date: October 19, 2026. Bikes purchased before the effective date remain covered by the warranty in effect at their original purchase date.
Transition for existing owners:
- Bikes purchased in 2025: the Extended Year may be obtained through the 1-Year Extended Protection Plan (Part 3) until December 31, 2026.
- Bikes purchased in 2026 and not yet registered: free registration to upgrade remains open until December 31, 2026.
Velotric 1-Year Extended Protection Plan
Important — please read: Your bike already comes with a free 2-Year Limited Warranty (see Part 1) — you get it automatically, and you do not need to buy anything extra. The 1-Year Extended Protection Plan (the "Plan") described in this section is completely optional: it is an add-on you can choose to buy if you want extra coverage on top of that warranty. Legally, the Plan is a service contract, not a warranty, and it does not extend or change the manufacturer's limited warranty in any way.
The Plan follows the same region and channel rules as Part 1 and Part 2 — purchases and deliveries within the United States from velotricbike.com or an Authorized Velotric Dealer only. Bikes from unauthorized sellers, resellers, marketplaces or cross-border purchases are not eligible to purchase or receive the Plan.
3.1 Who It's For & How to Get It
The Plan is designed for owners who missed the free registration window in Part 2. It is available to purchasefrom Day 61 through Day 180 after the original purchase date, in either of two ways:
- Option 1 — Purchase directly. Buy the Plan online for USD 199.
- Option 2 — Through an Authorized Velotric Dealer. Complete a qualifying maintenance service at an Authorized Velotric Dealer during the same window, and the Plan can be activated based on the service record.
Service items are at the dealer's professional discretion and may include
- brake inspection & adjustment,
- drivetrain inspection & lubrication,
- torque check of critical fasteners,
- tire & wheel inspection,
- battery health check,
- firmware check & update.
Eligibility follows the same model list as Section 2.2.
Transition exception: bikes purchased in 2025 may obtain the Plan until December 31, 2026, regardless of the Day 61–180 window (see Section 2.5).
3.2 What the Plan Covers
The Plan provides the same coverage as the Extended Year described in Section 2.4: Electrical Parts and Battery through Year 3 from the original purchase date (battery: Year 3 or 400 total charging cycles, whichever comes first), Frame (structure) through Year 10, including the one-time transfer right. All exclusions, limitations, and the claims process of the 2-Year Limited Warranty apply unchanged. Coverage under the Plan runs from the original purchase date; purchasing the Plan never restarts or extends the warranty clock.
3.3 Cancellation & Refund
- You may cancel this Plan purchased directly from Velotric within thirty (30) days of purchase for a full refund, provided no claim has been made. After 30 days, you may still cancel at any time and receive a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of the Plan. Cancellation terminates only the Plan and the additional coverage it provides. Your 2-Year Limited Warranty under Part 1 is independent of this Plan and remains in full effect regardless of whether the Plan is purchased, kept, or cancelled.
- Plans activated through a maintenance service at an Authorized Velotric Dealer are provided under the dealer's own sales arrangement with you. Velotric does not set, collect, or control any price the dealer may charge for the Plan, and Velotric is not responsible for refunding any amounts paid to a dealer. Cancelling the Plan ends your Plan coverage only; any question about what you paid the dealer — including refunds — must be resolved directly with the Authorized Velotric Dealer.
3.4 Plan Provider & Questions
This Plan is not insurance. For questions about the Plan, or to request cancellation, contact help@velotricbike.com or +1 888-559-3099. Your rights under the 2-Year Limited Warranty and your statutory consumer rights are not affected by purchasing or declining this Plan.
