BiKASE MIK Trunk Bag Big Daddy Bicycle Rack Bag

I wrote a review of this bag a few hours ago with full intent to return it to the bike shop I purchased it from yesterday. I didn't like that the panniers only had one zipper to open and close it, I am used to having two zippers to fine tune how much or little I open it to keep items from falling out or shifting position. Since then I've done extensive searches online to see if I could find a MIK compatible dual pannier and top bag set that works with the MIK rack system. Couldn't find anything more suitable.

So.....on second thought, I made a mental adjustment and decided I can live with the inconvenience of the single zipper design and noted one of my practices was to take two 20 oz insulated bottles with me for hydration and sometimes use a pannier to keep the second bottle with me. I didn't notice at first that this bag has a pocket for easy access at the back of topside compartment for one of the bottles - a big plus. I also had dinged the design of the MIK mounting system requiring a "key" to secure the bag and a somewhat clumsy tool to unlock the bag when the "key" is not being used. It makes for awkward positioning to find the locking mechanism on the bottom of the bag, insert the release device and complete the freeing process. The small key and release mechanism are made from cheap, light plastic that could easily be misplaced or damaged from handling it. A more sturdy build would be advised. I am keeping those items in the mesh pocket on the underside…

Snaps into place and holds steady. Large enough for bottled drinks and ice - or cold drinks with plenty of room for even more stuff. Handy carrying handle, plus rain cover. Also has side panniers for - even more stuff. Top cover has an inside mess pocket. Also comes with a rear elastic water bottle holder. Side and rear reflective elements, even when panniers are folded down. Finally, you also get a shoulder strap (if needed). Don’t forget to write down your key number!
