Back on Track, and Better Than Ever
About 6 months ago, I decided I needed to change my life around. I was extremely out of shape, unhealthy, in constant pain and disabled because of my weight. The problem was, because I was unable to walk or stand for more than a few minutes at a time, I wasn’t sure what I could do to get my body moving.
I started reading advice from others with bodies like mine, and e-bikes were a repeated recommendation. I started researching e-bikes, and the biggest hurdle I encountered was that there were almost no bikes with a high enough weight capacity. Velotric was one of the only e-bike companies that made bikes for people like me, so I started reading reviews on the website, watching video reviews on YouTube, and decided to take the plunge.
When I first got my Velotric Nomad 1, my rides lasted 15 to 20 minutes. But more recently I’ve been able to ride for more than 5x that. I've also started to rely on the pedal-assist less and less. I know if I had gone with a non-electric bike I would not have gotten to where I am now, but the Nomad 1 has allowed me to build my muscles and skill at my own pace.
My Velotric bike has been a key piece of getting my life back, along with bettering my diet. Since I purchased the bike in November of 2023, I have lost approximately 130 pounds, am no longer limited in my mobility, and my pre-diabetes and high blood pressure are gone. I feel great and am finally able to live life again!
